Privacy Policy
- Your information is never sold, rented, or traded. A quote request stays with our agency.
- We share it only with the insurance companies we represent (to quote, compare and service your coverage), vendors who help us run the agency under contract, when the law requires it, or with your permission.
- We call and text only about your quote and related insurance. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information by calling (972) 987-0650 or emailing bobh@33north-ins.com.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Hutchings Enterprises Inc, doing business as 33° North Insurance Group ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares personal information through 33north-ins.com (the "Site").
We are an independent insurance agency based in Frisco, Texas. We represent multiple insurance companies, and we work for you, not for any one insurer. You can reach us at (972) 987-0650 or bobh@33north-ins.com.
As an insurance agency, we are a "financial institution" under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ("GLBA"), and the personal information you give us to obtain insurance is also protected by applicable state insurance privacy laws and regulations.
Each insurance company we work with has its own privacy notice. If you buy a policy, the insurer that issues it will also give you its privacy notice.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers information collected through the Site, including our guided quote form, our short quote request form, the ZIP-code quote starters on our coverage pages, and quote requests sent through AI assistants that use the tools published on this Site.
It does not cover the separate privacy practices of the insurance companies that underwrite and issue the policies we place. Once your information is submitted to an insurer for a quote or for underwriting, that insurer's own privacy notice also governs how it handles your information. Information you give us by phone or in person is handled consistently with this policy.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
Depending on which form you use, we collect:
- Contact information — your first and last name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, and (on the guided quote form) your street address
- Date of birth, gender, and marital status — on the guided quote form only, because insurers may use them to rate and price coverage where the law permits. We treat these as sensitive: we use them only to prepare your quote and never for advertising.
- Vehicle information — the year, make, and model of each vehicle and the number of drivers
- Property information — property type, approximate age, square footage, and number of stories
- Current insurance information — whether you are currently insured and, if so, your current insurance company
- Your requests and messages — the coverage you are interested in, the best time to reach you, and notes you choose to add
- Your consent record — the consent wording you agreed to, the button you clicked, the page you were on, and the date and time you submitted
We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, payment card numbers, bank account information, or health information through this Site. If an insurer needs that information later in the application process, it is collected through secure systems, not through this website.
Information collected automatically
- IP address and approximate location — on the guided quote form we use a geolocation service to estimate your city, state, and ZIP code so we can pre-fill parts of the form
- Device and browser information — such as browser type, device type, and screen size, which our hosting provider records in standard server logs
- Usage information — the page you submitted a form from and the page that referred you to it
Information from service providers
- Address suggestions — when you begin typing your address, Google Maps Places suggests complete, standardized addresses
- Contact verification — a verification service checks whether the email address and phone number you enter appear valid, which reduces errors and prevents fraudulent submissions
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Prepare and deliver the insurance quote you requested
- Contact you about your quote and related insurance products and services by phone, text message, or email, as you agreed
- Submit your information to the insurance companies we represent so they can evaluate, price, and service your coverage, and so we can compare options for you
- Verify that the contact information you gave us is accurate
- Service your policy and respond to your questions if you become a client
- Keep a record of your consent and honor your opt-out requests
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with our legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations, including insurance recordkeeping requirements
Your personal information is not used to train artificial intelligence models by us. Our vendors handle data under their own terms, listed in the Cookies and online tools table. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, except that our forms automatically screen out phone numbers and email addresses that a verification service flags as invalid or high-risk. If that happens to you, call us at (972) 987-0650.
5. Who we share it with
We share your personal information only in these situations:
With insurance companies, when you ask for a quote or policy
33° North Insurance Group is an independent agency. To shop and compare your coverage, we share your quote information with several of the insurance companies we represent, and with the insurer or program that writes the coverage you choose (for example, the National Flood Insurance Program for flood coverage). Those insurers may also obtain information about you from consumer reporting agencies, motor vehicle records, and insurance loss history databases as part of underwriting.
With service providers under contract
We use a small number of vendors that process information on our behalf and are limited to using it to provide services to us. They are listed in the Cookies and online tools table below, and include our website host, the service that delivers form submissions to our agency, address lookup, location lookup, contact verification, and our phone and messaging systems.
When the law requires it
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or regulatory request, including examinations by state insurance regulators; to establish or defend legal claims; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients, our agency, or the public.
If our agency is sold or transferred
If our agency is sold, merged, or transferred, client information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to the protections in this policy.
With your permission
We will share your information in any other way only if you ask us to or give us permission.
6. We do not sell your information
We do not sell your personal information. We are not a lead generator. When you request a quote from 33° North Insurance Group, that request stays with this agency and the insurance companies we ask to quote it. Your information is never sold, rented, or traded to other insurance agencies, lead aggregators, comparison websites, or anyone else for their own marketing. You will not receive calls from other agents because you filled out our form.
We do not pass the contents of your quote form — your name, date of birth, address, phone, email, vehicle details, property details, or insurance history — to Meta, Google, or any other advertising platform for advertising. (Google's address lookup service sees the address characters you type so it can suggest a complete address; it does not receive the rest of your form.)
7. Calls and text messages
When you submit one of our forms, you agree that Hutchings Enterprises Inc (33° North Insurance Group) and its licensed agents may contact you by call, text message, and email about your insurance quote and related insurance products and services, including by automated technology and prerecorded or artificial voice, at the number and address you provided, as described in the consent wording shown with the form. That consent is not a condition of purchasing anything, and you can get a quote by calling us instead.
- Opting out of texts — reply STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or OPT OUT to any text. STOP ends all automated and prerecorded calls and texts from us to that number. We may send one confirmation text with no marketing content, and then we stop.
- Help — reply HELP to any text, or call (972) 987-0650.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Any reasonable way works — you can also withdraw consent by telling a member of our team on a call, by email, or by mail. We honor opt-outs promptly and no later than 10 business days after we receive them.
- Do Not Call — if you ask us not to call or text you, we add your number to our internal Do Not Call list and honor that request for ten years, unless you later ask us to contact you again.
- Call tracking and recording — we use a call tracking service (CallRail) to route calls to our agency and see which page or ad led to your call. Calls with our agency may be recorded for quality, training, and recordkeeping.
- Account messages — if you are a client and opt out, we will still reach you about an existing policy (for example, renewals, billing, or claims) by manual phone call, email, or mail, not by automated text.
Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except service providers that help us deliver our own messages.
8. Cookies and online tools
This Site uses a small number of outside services. Each one may receive your IP address and basic browser information when your browser loads it.
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| This Site (your browser’s local storage) | Remembers how you first reached the Site (for example a search engine, an ad or another website) and the page you landed on, for up to 30 days, so a quote request can tell us how you found us | Stored only in your browser. It is sent to us only as part of a form you choose to submit, and you can clear it by clearing your browser’s site data |
| Netlify | Hosts the Site | IP address, browser, pages requested (server logs) |
| Zapier | Delivers form submissions to our agency's systems | The information you submit on a form |
| Google Maps Platform | Address suggestions on the quote form; office map | The address characters you type; IP address |
| ipapi.co | Estimates your city and ZIP on the quote form | IP address |
| AbstractAPI | Checks that an email address and phone number are valid | The email address and phone number you enter |
| Google Fonts | Loads the fonts used on this website | IP address, browser information |
| Logo.dev | Loads small insurance company and vehicle brand logos on the home page, quote form and Service Center page | IP address, browser information |
| Our website developer (Quotely) | Builds and maintains the Site and operates some of its tools, such as contact verification, on our behalf | Information needed to run those tools; it may not use your information for anything else |
| Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) | Measures whether our Facebook ads bring visitors, and counts quote requests (not what you entered) | IP address, browser information, pages viewed, and a “quote requested” signal; Meta may set cookies under its privacy policy. Not loaded when your browser sends Global Privacy Control |
| CallRail | Call tracking: provides the phone numbers that route calls to our agency, shows which page or ad led to a call, and may record calls | Your phone number, call time and length, the page or ad that led to the call, and call recordings where used |
| RingCentral | Our business phone and text messaging system: places and receives calls and texts with you | Your phone number, our calls and the content of the texts we exchange |
| Calendly | Lets you book a call with us from the quote confirmation page (only when scheduling is turned on) | IP address and browser information when the scheduler loads; the name, email and any details you enter if you book |
| Mux and cdnjs (Cloudflare) | Stream the welcome video and load the video player on the quote confirmation page (only when a video is posted) | IP address, browser information |
Advertising measurement
We use, or may use, the Meta Pixel from Meta (Facebook) to learn whether our ads bring people to the Site. It records the pages you view, and it counts a visit to our quote confirmation page as a quote request (it never receives what you entered). It may set cookies and receives your IP address and browser information, and Meta handles that information under its own privacy policy. We may add similar tools from Google later. Some state laws treat this as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising even though no one buys your information. We never send them your form answers.
Your choices
- Global Privacy Control — if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising-related sharing for that browser, and we do not load advertising measurement tools for it.
- Do Not Track — there is no common standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so the Site does not respond to them. We honor Global Privacy Control instead.
- Your browser and ad accounts — you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and adjust ad personalization in your Google and Meta account settings.
- Contact us — you can also ask us to opt you out using the details in How to reach us.
9. Your privacy rights
Under insurance privacy law
Federal law and state insurance privacy laws limit how nonpublic personal information collected in connection with an insurance transaction may be disclosed. Depending on where you live, insurance law may also give you rights over recorded personal information about you, which may include access, correction, and an explanation of an adverse underwriting decision. Many of these requests are handled by the insurer, and we will help you reach the right place.
Texas residents
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives Texas residents rights over their personal data, but it generally does not apply to financial institutions and data subject to the GLBA, and it exempts many small businesses. Much of what we collect falls under those exemptions. We still honor the rights below for Texas residents, including the right to appeal, and we will never sell sensitive personal data. Texas residents with an insurance question or complaint can contact the Texas Department of Insurance at 800-252-3439.
Our practice, wherever you live
Many state consumer privacy laws exempt information already regulated under the GLBA and state insurance law, and some exempt small businesses. We think that is a poor reason to give you less. As a matter of agency practice, wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information we are not required to keep
- Opt out of advertising-related sharing
- Get a copy of the information you gave us
How to make a request. Call (972) 987-0650, or email bobh@33north-ins.com. We will verify your identity by matching details you have already given us before we release or delete information. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you; we may ask for proof that you gave the agent permission and ask you to confirm your identity directly. We generally respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why, and we may extend once by up to 45 more days.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing bobh@33north-ins.com with the subject "Privacy Appeal" within a reasonable time after our decision. We will respond in writing within 60 days and explain what we decided and why. If you are not satisfied with our appeal decision, you may contact your state attorney general (Texas residents can file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General) or, for insurance questions, your state's department of insurance. Texas residents can reach the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) at 800-252-3439.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. Some records must be kept even if you ask us to delete them: insurance law and our agreements with the insurance companies we represent require us to keep insurance transaction records for a set period.
10. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission of data submitted through this Site and access controls limiting who in our agency can view client information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as applicable law requires. Please do not send Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or financial account details to us by ordinary email.
11. How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and client records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal, regulatory, and insurance-company recordkeeping obligations, and longer where a policy, claim, or dispute requires it. We keep consent and opt-out records for as long as needed to prove and honor them, including ten years for Do Not Call requests. When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.
12. Children's privacy
This Site is intended for adults seeking insurance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this Site. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party websites
Our Site links to websites we do not control, including insurance company websites, Google Maps, and our Facebook page. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Review their privacy notices before giving them information.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices, our tools, or the law change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make a material change to how we use or share personal information, we will give more prominent notice before the change applies to information we already hold.
